Wow.....the content and the depth of this book was definitely not expected, but was great in regards to the element of surprise. Although the title may suggest that this book is strictly an urban street literature book, it is SO much more!! This is the first book I've read that's classified as urban fiction that actually has a message that ties into the entire storyline. And that's what sets this book apart from others.Miani has always had it hard since experiencing a traumatic event that has forever scorned her. Because of this, in addition to a drug addicted mother, forces her to grow up fast in a cold world the best way she knows how. She does what she has to do to make fast, quick money (and it's not stripping) and the repercussions/consequences of these actions later come back to haunt her in a way you would never imagine. When she meets Keni, she is presented with an oppurtunity to make the quick, fast cash that she's so accustomed to....but at what price does she really pay?
This is the first book I've read by the author but it definitely won't be my last. As a matter of fact, I'm going to search more of her work to 1-click because she definitely has a fan here. I love that the book was unpredictable and had twists/turns that will completely blindside you. RHB was a good read...character development was great and the story flowed perfectly. You definitely want to 1-click this book if you're looking for that good read that'll have you all in your feelings as if you were an actual character in the book. Great read!!

This was just okay to me. I've seen this author do better work before, but everything about this book was too cliche for my taste. This wouldn't be one of those books I would just jump right out and recommend, but if you're trying to kill some time and want something quick to read that is low-key entertaining, then I'd say give this book a try.
By the end of the prologue, I was drawn in , and I could not wait to dig into the rest of the story. I won't give away spoilers, but Miani is as trifling as they come; and to think I felt sorry for her in the beginning! I hear there's a sequel in the making, and I will be downloading it as well. The ending caught me off guard, and I'm eager to follow Miani's journey. #recommend!
I love it !! What can i say. This is my first read by you honestly and I'm about to go on the hunt for your other's. I actually loved how the story had a message. It wasn't just a hood book. I read it from beginning to end. I was definitely not expecting that at the end. I don't want to give away anything so I'll just say this. Miani and Chasity better come HARD in part 2 . I need Keni taken down ! Great read Britt
This book had me from the cover I knew I wanted it when I seen it.My gf finally bought it for me the other day and I started it yesterday 10-11-13 and finished it 10-12-13.It had me from the beginning I would have hated to have her as a mother.The way Menno left her was messed up but way she got herself into was crazy as hell.Im mad that he had to die that way but I can't wait for the second book
I have read quite a few books by this author and i must say i loved all of them i read this book in one day couldnt put it down mani was living the life she knew best cause the life she endured as a teenager i felt bad that meeno didnt marry her but she shouldnt have told his sister what she did cause it blew up in her face but he still have love for her boy that keni had a bad attitude and i didnt like him but he got what was coming to him at the end would most likely recommend this book it was more than five stars keep up the good work ms williams looking forward to part 2.
There was the bones of a good story here, but the plot didn't even live up to the promise of the title. Miani was never Keni's "right hand" anything, she was just a tool that he used. She didn't work alongside him, help him make decisions, anything like that. She just set guys up.
The way the story bounced back and forth in time could have been good, but it didn't feel as if the author put much thought into the pacing of the story or WHY things were going back and forth. In the end, it just felt rushed and as if we never got a chance to truly understand who Miani was.
The book held my attention from start to finish........
Miani- After years of abuse, she thought she'd found the perfect man in Meeno. He had money, power and treated her with respect. However, a secret she told his sister comes back in the form of Karma sending her life on a wild ride that she wasn't prepared to handle.
Her new life is too much for her to handle so, Miani never reveals her scandalous new way of making money to her best friend & emotional little sister Chasity. In the end she regrets the day she chose to make a deal with the devil known as Keni.
*****The plot thickens & I will definitely purchase part 2 ... I need to know how this story will play out!
